Also, the cruise should NEVER be used on wet, snowy, or icy roads, and never 'in town', either. The more you share here, the more it sounds like you are an careless/inattentive driver, and I assume you never actually went to an independent truck school. You have a manual restriction. If there are jobs available, you will probably be one of the last people called to get one. Sorry, but your bad habits caught up with you. Maybe if you go to a licensed, recognized trucking school for a 'brush up' course, it will at least show that you are serious about this business. Short of that, you could probably drive a garbage or dump truck, but that's about all. Pretty much all dumps use a manual, anyway.

Trust me, I drove trucks like that towards the end of my time with R&L and the stupid software makes the trucks almost undriveable in traffic. It can bite a very experienced driver in the behind , it did it to me on several occasions.

have you checked lately? most of them claim they don't do 'refresher courses' anymore-they want to get that money and make you go through the complete course-even if you still have a cdl with TX and doubles but dropped HM cause it was too expensive. plus even though I went through the fbi fingerprint so could get into ports to deliver, they wanted me to do that again and pay for it again! it's all about the GREED it seems, now.

 

that's the ones that the rear bumper is designed to do only 58mph, and the driver's door is MADE to do 90mph.

He’s a clown because he self admittedly hasn’t been in a truck for over two decades but he’s taking the OP to task and accusing him of being an inattentive careless driver that is not trained properly. The clown has no experience with modern adaptive cruise and Collision Mitigation Systems that caused the OP’s hard brake and load shift. If the clown had kept his uninformed opinion to himself and not berated the OP there would be no issue. Since the clown started it, it’s on him. Capiche?
