Oh, boo-hoo, storms have been hitting the Sierras for a thousand years. I suppose, now that someone can't get to Walmart, it's big news. On the plus side, shouldn't be any fires for a while, like in Texas. I swear, God hates Texas.Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this.

As of Sunday morning, parts of the Sierra have already measured more than seven feet of snow from the storm, including Donner Peak, along Interstate 80 northwest of Lake Tahoe. Soda Springs Ski Resort picked up 84 inches of snow.
The UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab near Soda Springs, California, has recorded over 60 inches of snow.
Winds gusted as high as 160 mph atop the summit at Palisades-Tahoe Ski Resort Thursday night, and numerous gusts from 50 to 80 mph have been clocked since Thursday from California to the northern Rockies.
Many got stuck in Donner Pass Friday night as conditions worsened.
I think you don't understand how big is this one. And it's not over yet.Keepforgettingmypassword and 201 Thank this. -
We all understand, but it literally has been happening since the beginning of time and everyone acts like it is something new
Keepforgettingmypassword, Opus, 201 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't mean to be insensitive, it's a whopper, for sure. Truckee is the snow capitol sometimes, and old photos show this is nothing new. For some odd reason, Americans seem to populate the harshest places and then complain about it. Clear merit to the "why is it so noisy by an airport" thing. People stuck,,now come on. With all the ways to be alerted, there's simply no excuse for travelling. Then we have to rescue them. Hey, there's a bill in Colorado that wants to make the person being rescued to pay for that. Like the big pileups, if they had to pay for that, it would decrease sharply, I bet. The west needs the moisture desperately, I hope we finally get some decent strawberries,,

Meanwhile it was 73 one day last week in Detroit. 24 hrs later it was 26. Crazy weather this year. El ninio I think they say. Todays it’s going to be 69. Winter was short here. Just about finished.

They say this storm brings two months of snow for the region, that gets a lot of snow annually. Then the wind was reaching 190 mph at some places. And now a new storm is approaching the area.
Truckers should stay away for awhile, if they are not forced to go there.Keepforgettingmypassword and 201 Thank this. -
