    Well, ...... for starters, .......
Because you've found it necessary to ask, "why"?.
If you really don't know, ..... why not?

The Greatest Story Ever Told was written over 2,000 years ago by men inspired.
No men, or women, have written a more accurate accounting of what will happen in the future since then.
    WhY?

Could it be lack of inspiration?
Or that there isn't enough future left to write about?
Regardless of who wrote it, if the advice and instructions for livin' life contained within that old book were followed by men and women, it's highly likely the future would be brighter.
As would the past have been.
    But they didn't and don't.

    WhY?

    When all else fails ---
    Read the instructions.

Hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, the fire extinguisher, the triangle box, and even the truck itself. A tractor is a warehouse of bludgeoning objects. It's a small wonder a lot of drivers actually do wind up getting mugged.

At any rate, I imagine a lot of carriers have policies against having weapons of any kind short of possessing a really mean dog.

Drivers who are not ex-cons should be allowed to carry guns, period.

The "Bill of Rights" is just that. Rights that we as a people gave ourselves, constitutionally. Our founding fathers believed that we should be able to speak our piece without fear, and we should be able to defend and protect ourselves, our loved ones and even those around us should the occasion arise. The "Bill of Rights" was added to the Constitution before it was ratified to appease the states, because they were uneasy about a central ruling government and wanted to make sure they would not be subject to the same tyranny they had just fought and died to escape. Instead of George Carlin, read some of the words of the men who established our country. George was funny sometimes, but those great men were awe inspiring.

    Happy Trails, God Bless. John

Dude who cares wether or not it is illegal to have a gun in a cmv, carry one in there anyway, and if you enter canada, (personally i dont see why anyone would want to)
then hide it very well. I have right now in my truck, a glock 31, and a romanian made ak-47 semi auto rifle with 1- 100 round mag, and 5 30 round mags, i carry this rifle in here with me incase im in los angeles, or some other part of courtry and a massive crisis unfolds like riots, or massive civil unrest, or drug lord shootouts., im not gonna let anyone assault me even in a massive riot like those apes did that one trucker, that is why i have a military style assault rifle, (of course it is semi auto) but you can still do massive damage with it. if needed.
