With 5 tyson plants shut down have u seen a slowdown with miles?
-
Not a bit. I’m running harder now than I have in the last year. The plants we shut down were smaller, outdated facilities. The capacity has only been shifted to larger plants.
Loudstacks and Last Call Thank this. -

Im certain it’s more consolidation, but I’ll get more info. I haven’t seen any slowdown in pork loads in my territory.Last Call Thanks this.

I was also reading a news feed on my ph Which was giving the details on the Perry plant closing. It said that in Tyson’s fiscal year of 2023 they lost 123 million dollars in their pork segment the previous year they claim it was 178 million I’am not sure I believe those numbers but that’s what the article stated
-
I've been reading some that Tyson has been dealing with a pork glut. As with all commodities when there is a glut the prices fall. This pain is being felt across all pork producers.
Last Call Thanks this. -
Smithfield is the largest hog producer in the world I know they shut down 56 large hog contractors in the last 18 months too
