I see on average they are 25-28 an hour and if you get some vaccum certificate with water machines i think it is 30 - 40 an hour. (DZ jobs) it cost only 1,000 for license.
I worked in IT/computers and they want alot for peanuts pay. So I believe this is a brighter future and really easy as well. Just have to drive safely and carefully. Also theres alot of hours.
.
As well in the future i can get my own truck and will even be better...

Unfortunately you’re not going to get any real advice if you will get a driving job or not . Those high paying DZ jobs you’re seeing are for drivers who have experience in that field, ie vac driver or roll off driver who have experience doing that type of work . You being a brand new driver fresh out of trucking school your chances of landing that type of job are slim to none. Even though you might think 5 years ago is a long time , a dui that’s only 5 years old in the trucking industries eyes is not that old and most insurance companies will not allow a company to hire you .Even a couple speeding tickets on your personal non commercial driving record can screw you as far as future jobs .Never mind a dui , only real advice anyone can give you is call up a few companies and see what they say and make a decision based on those answers. My honest opinion is it’s going to be real tough to get any reputable company to hire you and with the economy still not doing very well right now there’s a better pool of drivers to choose from then a guy who has a dui 5 years agoLast edited: Mar 14, 2024
upnorthwpg and Peplow Thank this. -
I'm probably still going to try. Because im educated, have a university degree and years of experience in tons of positions. Some people wiill be interested im sure. Thanks for the input was very useful defintely will be a risk

If it’s only going to cost you $1000 to your Dz why not try . Now if you were taking about spending like 10k to get your az and hoping to get hired you would be crazy . In my opinion having a Az does not guarantee you will make more money either . there’s lots of dz driving positions paying $29-35 a hr like mixer, fuel, dump , roll off and vac trucks . I’m seriously thinking of moving over to like roll off or union mixer truck . Az local jobs don’t pay Di$k here in the GTA and i have 16 years driving experience now making the same as a guy with 1-2 years experience at $24/25 a hr

These well paying DZ jobs tend to be with vocational trucks. You’re more of an operator than a driver. Driving can be a very small part of your day. Operating and labour to some extent make up the bulk of your day. - Vacuum trucks, concrete pump trucks, boom trucks etc.
There’s certainly good money to be made in these occupations, but just understand that driving is typically not a major part of your day. -
Ya exactly. Theres a future in it. I worked computers for 5 years... sh1t pay learning complex and hard things. Biggest waste of time. At least i'll eventually make big money if i try with DZ simple work.. easy. -
Thats still fine with me... i'm not lazy as long as pay is worth it. And at the end of the day i'll have more DZ experience and that adds onPhantom Trucker Thanks this.

The answer is yes, you can.
It's off your abstract and CVOR now. -
Oh wow didn't know that. Thank you

For $8 on the MTO website you can pull your abstract. But after 60 months, it should fall off.
