Because the space situation is a bit too ####ed for that lol... just imagine the catwalk is still on there running the whole width of the truck, instead of being pulled for restoration work xD

You look like you got plenty of room for several models of APU especially if you can slide that tank forward or swap to a flat fender, maybe both. Green APUs for example are 26 inches wide. Carriers are 22" the HP2000s were 24 and the thermocant crypack electric ones are only 20" wide.

Hmmm... I'll look into it. I need to replace my tank insulator straps anyway, which would make the tank straps themselves a "while you're in there" task, so I suppose I'm at an opportune point to either slide those tanks forward, install new tanks altogether, or both... servicing the tank insulator straps is a large part of why the catwalk is currently removed, sooooooooooo...

You could pull the steps off and replace with a quarter fender on the passenger side. If you're not planning on using the stock inverter, remove it and the frame from the driver side and it will give you even more room for a larger tank.

I would also look into new drive tires. They look like the treads are even with the wear marks and possibly some irregular shoulder wear between the duals. -
If you’re worried about weight on your steer axle you could slide the passenger tank to the rear and mount the APU in front of the tank behind the fairing.
