People have to go through hell and learn all sorts of complex things and they can't even make what a truck driver makes.
Driving a truck isn't easy but some defintely easier than other things in this world... like IT/computers. complex and peanuts pay

I plan to get some experience and directly focus on roll-off trucks... many jobs and higher salary.. hope it works out either way ill just keep trying
-
Biggest problem i see with roll off job postings is everyone wants roll off experience not just truck driving experience which brings up the age old problem how do i get that experience . Some will just want 1-2 years driving experience which you could get driving a box truck doing local deliveries but pay will not be the same . Lucky to make $25 a hr driving a box truckLast edited: Mar 20, 2024
Peplow Thanks this. -
If you're in Toronto I'd leave. Cheaper cost of living just about anywhere else in the country.
-
Funny because I live in Hamilton and leaving back to Toronto. Theres no jobs here, no pay, many homeless... its horrible.
-
That's true but when they see I have a bunch of DZ experience and then roll off truck training it might be worth it. Or i might even get lucky someone will just hire me with a lower salary
-
Try out GFL. They hire anyone. Experience or not.

Thanks alot
