Going from Pickering to Washington DC, I've been running across the Peace Bridge, I90 east to 390 and down 15 but I've heard several suggest using the Thousand Islands route to avoid Toronto traffic. Looks to be about 50 miles more but maybe fewer tolls ?? Any thoughts ????
Peace Bridge or Thousand Islands ???

I've run both routes and my personal preference is the 90-390-15.

560 miles across Peace Bridge out the Thru-Way and down 390.
645 miles across Thousand Island Bridge and south.
Can't see the small cost of tolls on the Thru-Way offsetting 85 OOR miles. -
85 miles? Starting from where,exactly?

You read the initial post didn't you Pete? -

I read the original post, but since one guy thought it was 50 and another guy thought it was 85 miles different, I thought it was wise to be sure that both were starting from the same place.
Some days I'm slower than others

i just ran up from wellington Fl, to ottawa an ran up thru washington an across at the thousand islands crossing. I think I'd personally take that route to avoid the traffic in toronto an buffalo etc on the 90 I know it was bad when I ran it years ago. I'd suggest runnin both if u run it all the time an decide afterwards which u like better etc.

There is a toll at the Peace Bridge southbound. Its $10.75 paid to the customs officer. Is there a toll on the Thousand Islands bridge ?? Toronto traffic can be ugly but 60 miles ootw is alot of miles just to avoid traffic. I've never had much trouble with Buffalo but there can be a huge backup on the Peace Bridge entering the US.

Yes there is a toll at Thousand Islands bridge, I can't remember offhand what it was for 5 axles, around $11 - $12 something like that
