Ya, but when one lives in Canada, it's what you have to live with.

You are closer to Sarnia which has the lowest cost of living in Ontario, Thunder Bay where i live is second lowest. Roll off is good stable work, home daily, never done it but know guys who did it all their life.
Roll off may seem tedious but ill tell you tedious is loading in North Dakota and setting cruise and staring at a blank interstate all the way to Detroit.
Im linehaul but thats AZ license…there are numerous carriers in my area with straight trucks doing nightly runs,,food service, mail contracts, fuel, In town work you could apply to dirt merchants, fuel companies, furniture stores, large carriers such as Manitoulin, Gardewine,(both have pension plan, benefits),,anyone running straight trucksLast edited: Mar 27, 2024

For now it does but apparently everyone is going out to alberta from places like B.C. and ontario. Before you know it houses will be a million dollarsAModelCat Thanks this. -
Unfortunately i never see Manitoulin or Gardewine hiring in the gta , Everytime i look over at a Manitoulin truck there’s a new Canadian driving. i guess they have filled all the spots -

All the hiring is apparently done by an outside source/driver service.

Definitely in the cities, I doubt the prices in rural Alberta will be that extreme.
Very few people want to be out in the sticks, which is fine by me. I'm relatively rural and next time I move I plan on being in a place where my nearest neighbours are at least a 2 minute drive away.Magoo1968 Thanks this.
