They said the ship got a radio message out before hitting and thetransit police closed the bridge before they hit. That's why there was no traffic. Only the road crew patching potholes up there.

 

Not bad here. 70's last week, 37 snow/rain as I type this. NWS says snow level 3000-5000' this week.
.....Lookout, Lolo, and Lost Trail passes having a 60 to
80% likelihood of receiving at least 2 inches of snow by Thursday....

 

Talk about a monster cluster. Better double the rate going

 

Snow level is about 8,000 in the Challis/Mackay area along 93. Of course we are still getting some squalls,but they don't last long.

Any of you guys running grease bearings in trailer hubs? Got a gooseneck with 10k axles and grease bearings to work on, just curious how much grease a guy should put in the hubs after packing the bearings.

 

The '67 has grease steer hubs. I've got a grease gun end that looks like a giant hypodermic needle, bearing grease loaded in, goosh it in the inboard, hang the hub then goosh the outboard, set the bearings and goosh some more. Gets right in the middle of the cage and work around the bearings.

 

This is why I don't have time to work on white plastic Freightliners with after treatment issues.

This work is waaay better. Swap out the rollers, idlers and sprockets tomorrow. With any luck the new chains will land Thursday.
