1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I've spent at least two days, two whole days, from wake to sleep, all working business hours, if not three, calling every company on this site. I am at a loss. I have wasted my time working restaurant, grocery, and retail thinking that I could some how earn a living. There is no way up. There is no increase. There is no viability. About two and a half years ago, it came to me to try trucking. Hell, I really enjoy driving after all. Two years later and I love it. I am making enough money to save on accident. I even have a nice apartment I am paying too much for. Things are good and I enjoy my job. It's the skills, the responsibility. I'm kicking ### and I know I'm good at it. It was time for a move to a new company. I had taken a vacation from work during the transition meaning that I left the employer to enjoy some time off. I wasn't employed. I wasn't under contract. I had used cannabis. I waited a month and a half. I climbed two mountains. I was in the gym and sauna every day. I thought this was enough time and it was not. After I packed my things and drove across the country to a new state, upon arrival I was notified of the bad news and discontinuation of engagement of employment with the new employer. That day, I got to work to find a new employer, and this system that is set up, and the ignorance of how to use it and what it means by a lot of these companies have me out of an ability to make a living. I just want to retire my mom. I just want to deliver my freight.

    In my experience I have:
One year of team/solo, sleeper cab, 53 foot reefer and dry van, OTR
Six months of solo, day cab, 53 foot dry van/doubles, local
Six months of solo, day cab, 53 foot intermodal, local
Two years total through frozen winters in tractor/trailer

I do not smoke. I do not smoke in the truck. I do not smoke when working. I do not smoke when not working. I do not smoke when employed. I do not smoke when unemployed. I am not a gd drug abuser. It was my choice to use it. I under stand that and take responsibility for that. It is also my choice to not use it. I take responsibility for that and I have no issues with my discipline of application or choice. If I have to test every morning I will be clean. I need a shot. Please get me back into the truck. I just want to deliver my freight, earn a living, be responsible for my self, my equipment, the drivers around me, and retire my mom. She has worked hard enough and it's time for her to rest.

    I am seeking:
Automatic fleet, (manual restriction. may be we can get manual added to license, let's talk)
Drop and hook (preferred), Live load (accepted)
    Otr/local/regional
At least 2500 miles/week (can and will run 3000 consistently)
Minimum 5k/month after tax, 6.5k/month before tax (1250/week after tax, 1625/week before tax)
Home time is a few days a month. I don't need to be home I need to drive.
Possible entry into tanker/hazmat with oil/fuel (I am looking to make more money not less. I can handle the safety and responsibility)
I would like to fuel at Love's. Their showers and employees are nicer.
I would like a truck with Lane Keep Assist (newer freightliner cascadia, newer kenworth t680) [This is not Lane Departure Warning, the beeping thing. This is the system that keeps you centered in lane. It's super cool]
Long term company, possible transfer to lease, but I need to know we are going to have a profitable business relationship and that I won't be let out to dry be cause I'm not your priority any more.
I would like to work in one day a week to find a local gym wherever I am at. I will still haul this day. Just need a few hours to keep in shape.

I miss parking my rig. I miss watching the tandems carve a corner perfect. I miss doing my paperwork and interacting with staff and our customers. I miss taking care of the equipment and making sure it's all running up to spec. I miss being on time for delivery. I miss going to rest at the end of a goodlong work day. I'm just sitting and I don't know what else I can do to earn a survivable wage.

Please hit me up and let me know of options. I want to run tractor trailer again, this is where my heart is, though if there are other cdl-a positions of straight trucks for concrete or whatnot, I am open to the possibility. Thank you and let's get rolling.

    First you said:
    Then you said:
You seem to have trouble keeping your story straight.

It isn't the system's fault, it's your fault. You knowingly screwed yourself out of a CDL driving job by choosing to consume cannabis when you knew you would be seeking employment as a CDL driver in the near future.

You could've started by taking ownership of what you've done instead of trying to blame the system.

A blunt or 18 wheels, but not both. Pick one; they're mutually exclusive.

Please keep your holier-than-thou, unconstructive, non-useful comments to your self. It makes you look bad and it instigates unneeded agitation. I am only replying so people can see that this is an active topic. I am not going to debate or try to engage with you so please don't muddy the topic by responding.

You'll have to be prepared for some tough love in this business if you make drug-related mistakes. Good luck, but we're done here.
