Making things better for all

now its a fact that things are bad in this business and there getting worse and have been for years and they will continue to get worse till we as truckers do somthing about it .

now this right off the bat is not by any means a call for a strike or to organise another union that we sure as hell dont need that hell who can aford it we already have enough problems and more then enough people in our pockets.
that is exsactly what we need to change, we need to keep our money we worked for it and we need to get rid of big brother, what ever happened to free enterprise i don't no about the rest of you but i resent it i dont need a mommy to hold my hand or a big brother looking over my shouler and i got a flash for you , the people that are making and pushing these laws and regulationd have never drove a truck nor do they hold a cdl hell most cant even spell truck let alone no what a truck can or can not do.

but we all seem to be content with what ever they want to do to us we must we continue to let them get away with anything they want WHY?

now i cant drive at all right now and quite frankly it's driving me nuts but i can tell you this it wont be long and ill be back out there and i can promise you this I WILL NOT COMPLY WITH MOST OF THE NEW REGULATIONS will i get a ticket , you bet of that you can be sure the only difference is before i pay the fine it will be ordered buy a judge not a cop at road side and im not putting down the DOT they have to do what there told im putting down the ideots in washington this nonsense has nothing to do with safty its all about money and i think we have given enough i might not win every case but you can bet i will be heard.

do i think you should all do this , absoloutly not i think each man should do what he thinks is right for himself and the industry. i no a lot of you just cant afford to take a stand like this this and if you cant you should not there are other ways you can get your point across that wont cost you but a quarter if that.

now i hear a lot of whinning and moaning about the way things are those of you that complain are right to do so but friends your complaining to the wrong people other truck drivers cant help they have to take some action along with you

now we have tried a strike , how did that work out , we have tried a shut down, that worked pretty well didnt it . got a question for you. now many voted in the national election? less then 50% and what did we get well i no im gonna get my legs striped for saying this but we got a cluster#### if the truth hurts to bad ive had enough of nobody doing anything about our problems i think we need to start taking care of our own it is evadent nobody else gives a ####.

do you no why politicians do this to us because they think we dont care so why not so they do the usall , tack on another law another regulation so they can collect more OF OUR MONEY and what makes it worse when the goverment does it each state thinks they can do it so every year we get hit twice the state thinks the goverment does it why cant we so they do big time.

give this some thought , in every state and i mean every state you pay a ridicules prise for a base plate usally more the a 1000 bucks does it stop ther o no thats just a start , now you have to buy a permit for every state you travel thrue so you can but fuel and pay a fuel tax think thats enough nope not yet , then when you buy the fuel at the pump you pay more tax the permit tax is just to give you permission to pay the fueltax at the pump make sense to me , yeah right .

now when you run up and down the interstate you will notice the new supercoops o there pretty all the fancy light and the big inspection bays at the rear who do you think payed for all that fancy stuff ? trucks thats who and each state has more then one they get you going and comming and guess what we weven pay the light bill for all that glory, you really think the DOT needs all that the state does you think all that is right i think not. but we got the money our ATM is always full.assk your congressman or senator they will be quick to tell you we got the bucks .

an there is more money that your paying out that your not even aware but thats ok we got the bucks were big time truck drivers we make all the little kids marvel, and just how much does that pay? although to make a child smile is worth while it just dosent pay the bills.

now after all this ask yourself do you really want things to change ? do you want to do somthing about it? do you want to live without big brother looking over your shoulder do you want to reduce the cost of being in business? are you ready to do somthing about it? and i mean all drivers company driver owner operator independent or lease operater makes no difference we all pay out the nose in one way or another.

what can you do? well its complicated and it dosent happen over night, and it's not a strike none of us can afford that and we don't want to hurt the people that do support us and there are a lot of those believe it or not.

the answer is simple find the phone number of both your senater and congessmen if you need help doing that let me no and ill get the numbers for you when you get those numbers start calling every day as much as you can two or three times a day if possible if you get to talk to a senater or congessman which i doubt light up there swith board render it useles as far as incomming calls are concearned if you get to talk to some one be respectfull and tell him what you think about the taxes and the regulations and tell him we need to get rid of them, probably wont do any good but let them no .

now we have the november elections comming up a lot of them there jobs are on the line , you have there names and all those that sponsered such laws vote each and every one of you vote the bums out then the message will be clear we are tired of just taking and taking we have had enough time for a change it will work all you have to do is let them no and vote the ones that will replace them will no we are not puppets for them to enjoy
at there leisure.

if we dont do it i can assure you it is only going to get worse not better. and the big thing we dont have to shut down or go on strike all we have to do is have a voting campaign to get the change we need and its all legal.

all you have to do is try and you can make it happen and rather quickly, you decide , it's your vote , your business do you think its wortrh saving.
