    I just took a gander out my winder to check on the Island 26 miles
    off the coast. Santa Catalina is now what appears to me to be, the new
    highest point on Earth.
    It's like 80,000 feet up thar in the are.

    Orange County slipped into the channel betwixt the Island and the mainland so it's now possible to walk to Catalina Island, or bicycle.
    Takin' the boat to Catalina outta San Pee-dro is not an option anymore due to lack of water, and the sea plane doesn't fly that high.
