I have worked here three years. From my starting pay until now my hourly pay has gone up over $10 hr and my mileage has gone up 16 cpm. We get a pretty significant raise on our anniversary for the first three years and then a cost of living raise every year.
That check stub @FreightHolla posted showed him making $2639 on a five day week home daily and weekends off. If that's not enough for you then I don't know what to tell you.JohnBoy, FreightHolla, motocross25 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Funny thing is it’s not hub miles either, which IMHO defeats the whole purpose of the “mileage mentality”.
Somebody somewhere estimates the distance to the destination and that’s what you get paid for. The fastest route might even be more miles that you’re not getting paid for.Lonesome Thanks this. -
Last I checked, no one is forcing you to apply?
I started out at $22/hr and 54cpm. Took a pay cut from my last job to come work here. Five years later I have no regrets, the topped out pay was absolutely worth waiting for.
What works for others may not work for you, and that’s fine. there are plenty of jobs out there and I’m sure you’ll find the right one eventually.Old_n_gray, Gearjammin' Penguin and Hawkeye72 Thank this. -
I like getting paid hub miles but his job doesn't suck because he isn't. And I always take the quickest route because my money isn't made by padding miles. That's stepping over dollars to pickup pennies. Some drivers can't see past "lots of miles" or "cents per mile". He probably makes over a dollar per mile with everything figured in.FreightHolla, JohnBoy and Hawkeye72 Thank this.

I loved working for FedEx
FreightHolla Thanks this. -
They actually do pay hub miles here. We are given a specific route to follow and get paid the exact miles for the route. If a driver needs to take a different route with longer miles, they are paid the difference with no questions asked.FreightHolla, Gearjammin' Penguin, navypoppop and 1 other person Thank this.

I got 3 raises within the first year , cpm and hourly both , the advertised rate per mile isn’t accurate , plus with task pay it equates to .89 to . 94 per mile . With detention , over a dollar a mile . As I said in the beginning, LTL isn’t for everyone, it’s a grind and the first year is brutal trying to get a foot hold in the bid system , a lot of drivers just want freight every night and hate the seniority system, it’s not for everybody, but it’s ok for me .
