Hey, I found something possibly of interest to you guys that run in snow country. Maybe you've seen them, maybe you ain't but it's a first time I have and it seems like a better alternative than slinging steel. http://www.autosock.com/truck/default.aspx

That is really cool, I couldn't find any location where the price was noted but I may be wrong. Thanks. TD.

dabs n randy
Are yall at the fw yard? -
Nope.... still sitting here in Cheyenne. Our pre-plan got pulled on us yesterday and nothing coming in yet.
OK... any thoughts on this... in the middle of the night our electrical system shutdown... no interior lights, blower for heat, etc., nothing and the exterior running lights did not work, but the headlights did work as well as the dash/gauge lights only. Randy checked the fuses could not find anything wrong. We figured shop time so went back to sleep for a couple of hours... got up and it is all working again.
Called breakdown and they agreed with Randy that to take it in now would be a waste of money since it is all working. What might cause this? I am not fond of the waiting until it happens again way of thinking.... I like to know what it might be or to look for. -
Might be a loose wire that is shorting that whole circuit. From your description sounds like that's the main reason.
-
That sounds logical... could the wire be anywhere in the truck that might be loose... or in the fuse box area? There is no voltage regular involved, is there?
I wish there was a "____ for Dummies" book for this stuff I could read. I love those books!!!
-
Without the wiring diagram its hard to find out thr certain wire to check. try checking the plug that goes into the trailer first. There was a guy at the yard today and he said his pigtail was shorting out
dabs Thanks this. -
hope everyone had a happy easter, got a load headed to jax fl (my old navy stomping grounds for fri at sysco right off commonwealth,,hope i can get a relay to take it off my hand by thurs,,,course it would also b nice if leprino would finish loading it too,was supposed to b done by midnight,,,course,,we weren't here for p/u either so i reckon we r even! lol,,,and as for mean old alan,,,wellllll, i went to santa's place in new york and gave him a heads up,,,nothing but switches and lumps of coal for u this year alan! p.s. if u want to know where santa's real shop is,,check out page 71 of ur trusty motor carrier atlas right about grid spot NC-13,,0ne inch above and right of lake placid!!
-
and where pray tell is our non resident trailer trash jarbo at? hmmm?,,,lose ur baby rattle in the escorts back seat? hmmm?lol! hope u r having fun over there haulin those redneck dreamshacks!! ( and yeah,,i have lived in enough of em,,i can say whatever i please about them imho) and this to herkyboy,,have had a minor glitch or two now and then with the tnd 500 but it is only when i am way out in the sticks,,about the only real issue even then is that its a little slow to recalculate a route if i make changes to it,,,but if i am whithin a 100 miles or so of a city (even a relativly small one) its pretty fast at setting up a route,,,wish u had had better luck with yours,,,cause for the most part,,,this one effin rocks!!!!!!!! and as far as showing me fifty feet off the roadway,,,well ,it does do that sometimes,,but i have only seen it on roads that used to b two lane and r now four lane or divided,,or if the new road is right along side the old one,,,,it is funny as hell to see the truck driving out in the lake or woods,,,but as soon as i get to an intersection or change into the hammer lane it resolves itself,,,not such as bad quirk in the sticks but could b a hassle in a city.
