Swift L/O's are suppossed to be set at 68mph. Mentors that are L/O's are turned down to 65. My mentors blue KW was set at 118 before Swift turned it down! He didn't have a clue that it was set that fast.
There is many colors available for L/O's. C5 Corvetter yellow is one of them. Evidently you don't get out to Phoenix Lugnut. There is bronze, copper, yellow, green, purple, and lots of other colors. I even have seen some of those International Lonestars. Pewter colored Volvos, lots of other colors.
Lugnut where are you getting your info?

BTW a couple of weeks ago general message came over that Swift is looking for non Swift owner operators.
Things may be heating up.
Last couple of weeks my mentor and I ran solo miles. They claimed that was the roll of the dice. He actually lost money over what he could have made over just being solo. They pay the L/O at a lesser rate when training a newbie. -

As a L/O...if you want to use the correct terminology...you are actually a rented truck from swift...you are assuming all liability for the truck, the insurance, and all at rates that Swift dictates...you are not an "independent contractor"...and that is what the lawsuit is about...and when the decision goes against Swift (and all the other companies doing the same) the IRS is going to have a field day collecting unpaid employer taxes from these companies...how many will just fold the doors closed?!!!Travelinman, The Challenger, BigT1033 and 1 other person Thank this. -
BTW by me saying "things may be heating up" I was referring to business. My mentor was surprised to see them soliciting for outside trucks to lease on to the company.

Thats awesome to know business is picking up. Thats great for the trucking industry and the economy as a whole.
Maybe that o/o lawsuit is motivating Swift to seek o/o's who own their trucks rather than lease from swift. It'll be interesting to see what comes from this lawsuit. -
