I always tell anyone if they are gonna sign on there, the flatbed side is the way to go. Now for the van side, the guys that ran 11 Western was much happier than the guys east of Denver. They always complained about running up to Maine so much. The flatbed side had cross country runs..the cpm wasn't the best but they don't sit nearly as much. I remember when I was in orientation there, they actually tried to push the flatbed side some. Out of that large class, maybe 4 went for it, me being 1 of them.tscottme and nextgentrucker Thank this.

I switched from OTR to local last year because of low mileage on the van side. I left the company after sitting at a terminal for 4 days without a load, alongside a lot full of other drivers dealing with the same thing. I pull vans for a private company now and I'm always talking with drivers from outside carriers who aren't getting many miles. Listening to them complain is the best antidote for the comparatively minor BS I put up with now.nextgentrucker, bryan21384 and Chinatown Thank this.
