Some of our dairy loads are short distances. Some of them have taller miles between Point A and Point B. I don’t haul enough dairy to give an accurate answer. I would say it varies depending on which region you’re operating in.Loudstacks Thanks this.

I've never had a customer that was within the 150 mile radius of the farm.Loudstacks and motocross25 Thank this.

150 miles and there's no customer that is all AG Exemption that I've been to except Nestle in Indiana from Fair OaksLoudstacks Thanks this.

150 air miles = 172 actual road miles? is that true? so you can do 170 without clenching your 6?
-
Road miles don't matter as long as you are in the 150 mile radius. I regularly hit 200+ road miles while still AG Exemption legal. NY DOT even checked the radius when I got inspected.
You can drive anywhere in that blue circle off duty PC using AG Exemption. Just put the location of the farm in the middle and note where the outside edge of the circle is so you can go on duty/driving before you get out of it.Last edited: Apr 25, 2024
Cobrawastaken, 88 Alpha, motocross25 and 3 others Thank this. -
I saw the new freightliners this past weekend at Winter Haven. I wouldn't mind one of those as my next truck. I'm not sure of the interior space though as they were all locked and I couldn't look in side
-
I peeked inside one the other day and they look good seems like more room than the Pete on the inside they are not striped out models.
It also had a double bunk.Redtwin Thanks this. -
I would miss the side bunk door of the Peterbilt, really handy for loading groceries and laundry etc, but the Freightliner I had at a previous company had a lot less problems than the past couple Petes I've had here so it would be a good trade-off I think.
Well that's assuming the Freightliners at Indian River have the DD15 and transmission. -
So I've talked to the shop about these trucks and got some info. We're getting 20 Freightliners (as of right now) and they're all double bunks. None of them will be pump capable. Also, all of our new trucks moving forward will be double bunks. The batch of Kenworths we're supposed to get some time soon will also be double bunks, they will have collision mitigation/adaptive cruise, and lane departure warning systems. Not sure how many kenworths we're getting though. Could be another 20.
Redtwin Thanks this.
