I've used a bench vise before. You have to work slow, or the whip will spin in the vice. A pair of vice grip pliers clamped down tight on the stainless steel whip, will help you hold the whip from spinning. The whip won't be perfectly straight but it will be better than it is now. Unless the whip breaks.
Single antenna or co -phase

That's pretty impressive to get 35 years out of a mobile antenna. I assume you take it apart once a year or so and clean it?
-
Yup, I take it apart and clean it from the mirror mount, shaft end and mount with a wire brush. I’ve only gone thru 2 stingers. I did have the Radio shop check the SWR when I replaced my Galaxy Pluto to the Anytone AT6666.

Apparently no one got the joke. Oh well.
I did this, applying some heat to the place where it is bent and then slowly bend it back. Sometimes it discolors the metal but it won't snap. -
I had a feeling it was a joke….. but I had to think about for a second. I was like …..Huh…..is he serious?
. From your replies on certain threads, I’m aware of your witty sarcasm comments
,…… I get a few and some leave me thinking though. Anywho, Thanks for letting me to know to add some heat to it, hopefully it doesn’t snap.
Edit: so does it really send a bend signal?
