Basically, there are two monthly bonuses available and, combined they're worth .04 cpm for all your paid miles for the month, assuming you meet all the criteria. Now I should say that I'm going on memory here, and I'm not in the truck so I can't check my handbook, so I may be wrong on some of these details.
There's a safety bonus that you're eligible for as long as you don't hit anything or get any DOT violations. You also have to turn in accurate logs and trip envelopes because too many mistakes on either will take you out of the running for the month.
The fuel bonus has several elements to it. The main part is a multi-tiered fuel economy structure based on your truck's average mpg for the month, which the company downloads from your qualcomm every week. The higher the tier you reach the higher the payment you're eligible for, and I think the tiers are based somewhere around 7.5. I could be wrong on the number, as they just changed for the summer.
There is also a fuel stop element for which you have to follow 85 percent of the fuel routing you're given with every load assignment. That's easy enough, just fuel where they tell you to.
Now you also have to send all your qualcomm macros or you lose your fuel bonus eligibility for the month. This one is tougher because if you forget only a few macros in a month you've lost the bonus.
There was also a holiday bonus this year if you stayed out over Christmas and/or New Years. It was a few hundred dollars or something like that. I don't really pay that much attention to the bonuses, but they're not too hard to meet. Somebody else might be able to check their handbook and correct me, but I'm at home and my handbook's outdated anyway.

Thanks Henley! That helps. Do they have an idling policy?
-
The mpg bonus is the idle policy. There are no explicit restrictions I'm aware of, just a monetary incentive for drivers to keep it low. I had a bad ignition switch this winter and the truck ran for five weeks until it could get fixed. Nobody said a word to me about idling.
Mooniac Thanks this. -
I had a truck with bad batteries in it, I was told to keep it idling lol.

i didnt have an apu on my otr truck so when winter came and the bunk heater wasnt cuttin it that baby was runnin

I just spent last night in Salt Lake City in a snowstorm, and neither my bunk heater OR my APU work, so you bet I was idling....it kept me so warm I woke up at some point and tossed the covers off and slept without any the rest of the night.
I finally got out of Utah, got a load of future donuts headed for L.A. I made it most of the way (after them taking 3 hours to load me), and stopped at the Petro in N. Las Vegas. I'll drive the rest of the way to the SFS terminal, park it overnight, spend the night in my own bed at home, and deliver it the following morning. After that, I am due for an oil change, and gonna see if the parts for my APU are in yet so at least they can get that fixed up. I am scheduled for home time in 2 weeks, so it sucks to be here for a day or 2 right before it.....I have this sinking feeling I'll be going back to the east coast again for more "fun" times....JustSonny Thanks this. -
hey just think of it this way... go to conover and back to sfs and then itll be time to stay home hey s2b candice called me asking where her pretty princess is?????
-
proof anyone can do it...
and red... you wouldnt know what to do with yourself if she called you -
Well ive been home since monday night, my truck has been in SFS at the shop, I checked in with them tuesday to make sure they understood my list and today and they told me they were still working on it. Hopefully they will have it done today as I wanted to get out of town friday, but now its looking dim.
-
My truck is in the shop as SFS as well...what's your truck number? I will be by there tomorrow (Friday) and I can see if they are working on it....
Mine started acting funny right on the top side of Cajon Pass...loss of power and the coolant temp is a lot higher than normal, so they will be checking that, as well as a laundry list of other things including the stupid auto transmission missing shifts, fixing my APU finally (if the parts are still there...) and installing my inverter. If I could have managed to stay out another 10 days or so, I would of had a week off of hometime.....
