So like most people in law inforcement you were drawn to that profession on account you being dominated by your parental ego, which is worse and more dangerous to others than someone dominated by their child ego.
You see your self as in a one up position with someone or looking up to an authority figure but never having someone on your level or treating someone from a level playing field. The result of childhood trauma that has been untreated and suppressed. So have fun with your ptsd.

Since discussion has stopped and we have stooped to insulting one another we'll call this one finished.
I suggest this not happen in the future or I will take more drastic measures to include banning if necessary.

Feel free to not post if you can't post anything other than insults!

I left Marten to drive for a company that has more miles, better pay, and consistant home time and far better treatment. My friend, who drove for Marten, went back to Swift because he said it was a better company. Enough said.

When I was let go, guys were sitting around WAY too much. Way to much freight was going on the rail, and rookies were getting too many miles while experienced guys twiddled their thumbs. NOW they're using electronic logs, and their dispatch department has NOT improved. It's gotten worse. So, if you go here, prepare to lose your car, apartment, house, and spouse. Hope you like dumpster diving for food at truck stops! Cuz that's the ONLY way you're going to eat. Taxes, perdiem, and medical premiums will take up your entire check and leave you with NOTHING!

Indeed the smartest thing you'll ever do. This segment of the industry is in the toilet with no hope of ever recovering. The employers as well as the employees are at an all time low as far as quality goes. Problem is, in order to have any hope of getting a decent LTL job or any of the better jobs out there, you have to endure the #### that these bottom feeder companies dish out. Once again, if you have the option, do not consider this for a career.

yeah, and even if you work your way into a great job, look at all the stuff you lose to get there. I wish i never got my cdl. I have a mostly enjoyable job now but it was all the crap i put up getting here that i regret! I work for a bottom feeder but i think they treat me a little differently because I had experience before i came here. Dispatch even has that fact on file, which i find odd.

Now there are ways to get great home everynight jobs right off the get-go if you have no desire to go OTR ever. You just have to figure it out. But most people dont realize that places like small beer warehouses will train you to get a class a cdl sometimes...especially if you start there as a 16 year old kid. i remember one time i was delivering to one of these places and the bossman was asking some kid, why didnt you get your cdl yet? i need you to drive! lol

OTR is just a joke these days.

Load planners and dispatch havent changed anything on there end since ive been on the E-log. Im getting dispatched on some loads where there is no chance to deliv on time. Had to turn down some loads, only to have fleet manager on my case as to why i cant accept load. I just send Q.C. message that its the E-log holding me back. Otr, tight loads, and E-logs are not a good mix. The solution is giving us drivers a little more time to get the load where it needs to go. Of course not every load is tight, but i get enough of them where its creating problems for me. Have been more stressed now. You dedicated drivers out there won't have as much problems with it, but Otr is a diffrent story.:biggrin_25510:

This is EXACTLY how I got mine. I worked at a local Budweiser distribution warehouse and they "trained" me to drive a truck. They took 3 days to show me how to parallel, alley dock and straight line back and to learn the pre-trip. I passed everything on the first try with flying colors. That was four years ago and I'm still going strong. And I only paid the $75 cost to take the CDL test.
