Opened up my hood to check fluids then couldn’t close hood all the way for some reason. A guy came and helped me and he broke the hood latch. How can I fix this??
Need help ASAP. How can I fix this myself???

Just buy the part and be done with it

Just report it to the company, no need to spend your money on a simple mistake not related to operation of the vehicle.

Just tell them about it when you get to a terminal. Looks like a Volvo. I’m driving one these days. Already broke a latch just like it for the fairing, and I was trying to be careful. I was trying to take it off out of boredom and curiosity. No real reason ! Lol. Oh well. No big deal. I guarantee it happens often. Spend your own money if you’re worried. I’ve done it in the past myself to avoid hassles, and you are kind of responsible. Make sure to ask a mechanic how to properly change it without breaking it. Lol.

You could tell them the latch broke when hooking it back together. Plastic parts break on trucks. Fix it yourself if it simple or get the part from dealer and have truck stop shop like TA install it
I had plastic hood latch break in freightliner because it was so tight or poor quality plastic. -
That
looks quite expensive lol $300 plus for a roll I believe.
