Werners policy (as is most carriers) is to double-clutch. This is due to manufacturer reccomendations. If you check the manuals for Eaton or Arvin/Meritor they both require double clutching. In fact if the tansmission locks up and they can show you were floating they will deny warrenty coverage for the repairs. That said how you drive your truck is up to you, personally I prefer floating.

Double clutching isn't so bad, I just hope I don't have to drive a standard shift car anytime soon lol. -
