    The stories behind these men lost are just so tragic.

    One was 5 weeks away from retirement, who had a cruise planned for he and his wife on his 63rd birthday.

    Another family lost 3 members in this blast.

    The worst is that this mining company has many, many safety violations, one of which was for poor ventilation, JUST LAST WEEK.

    As far as safety violations go!I work in an underground platinum/palladium mine in montana. we just had an msha mine safety and health administration inspection, and had over 90 violations,called msha citations. we have this every quarter, for any one to say they had alot of violations is accurate but the violations can be as little as a rock on a sidewalk and be written! we get them all the time even for noise exposure some are as little as a sign that is dirty or a miner not having his five point safety card signed.Just like if you dont have your log signed so many violations that really mean nothing..

    im a trucker also i have a 2005 kenworth w900 L parked in my drive way im just waiting to see what happens in the trucking industry before i decide to go back>>

    Understandable, and I will agree that SOME violations may be minor.

    However, a violation for ventilation, in a mine that COLLECTS methane, (dangerous in itself) and coal dust, (ANOTHER dangerous compound),
    JUST LAST WEEK....I'm hard put to see that Massey is innocent ...

    The blame game is but a side-note to the tragedy of people lost in a terrible explosion.


    Please, let's all just keep the families of these people in our thoughts and prayers.
