Doesn't matter if it's the highway or the city. You have can have your blinker on for a long time before someone lets you over if at all. But back in the day, when you put your blinker on, someone would immediately let you over.
What happened?
How come a lot of people don't let you over anymore when you have your blinker on like they used to?

Because we live in the most ignorant country in the world….people have a me syndrome… it’s all about me, #### everyone else… get yourself a bunch of pennies for the s holes on the roads…

Guys that stay in the left lane forever I'm guessing. You try to be courteous and let them out then instead of passing and getting back over they hang there in the left lane for 10 miles .

As I age I’m not asking to get over if I need over for let’s say a emergency vehicle I signal and make lane smaller and smaller till someone gives . I typically hold my lane and adjust speed unless I really need over .

A lot of drivers will stay in the wrong lane and maximize the number of "suckers" in the correct lane they can pass before they put on their turn signal and suddenly re-discover courtesy. Meaning, courtesy for me(you give me what I want), behind me for thee (you're a loser so why won't you let me in front of you). When I saw I was in the wrong lane and will need to eventually change lanes, the one thing I did not do was charge ahead in the wrong lane and see how many people I could pass before getting into the correct lane. I would very quickly see the truck I hope I will be BEHIND and then wait until I had space in the correct lane and then merge and THEN THANK THE PERSON THAT LET ME IN by blinking my lights.
If the OP is in line for some event, how many people do you enjoy breaking in line in front of you?Peplow, LilRedRidingHood, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -

Its bad, state to state. Michigan seems to be worst. One four wheeler was probably 1/5th of a mile back according to my mirrors. As soon as I the signal on he floored it in order of not letting me in the lane. Whats strange is when driver by looking directly forward as though they have horse racing blinkers on. It really makes no sense. Best thing is make wure there is enough room to count 2 seconda max and change lanes.

The worst are the ones who think they are letting you over, particularly when encountered at night.

Most of the trucks out here anymore are just as bad as the fourwheelers. They don't stay to the right lane and they'd rather run you over than to let you in when you need in. Lots of self entitled people and third world traffic attitudes, not a good combination.
