Hello Everyone...as stated before I am going to start and try to update my job experiences here at MGM Transport which is primarily a furniture hauler going from NC areas to all points to furniture stores and warehouses mostly:
Tuesday, headed down to High Point,NC for orientation at 830am. 2 days paid orientation, company paid motel and excellent lunches (both buffets and much better than truckstop food!). Did the regular drug test, physical, road test deal and covered all the company policy's about hauling furniture. Got done about 5pm on Wednesday and got a truck (newer volvo) and load going to drop in Secaucus,NJ for Thursday.
Spent night at home then left and got to Secaucus,NJ drop yard about 430pm. Gave truck to its driver and switched out into what will be my truck temporarily (is a 10 year old volvo but runs good....they don't have much turnover so might be just a bit til i get into a newer and permanent truck).
Got dispatch right at 8am Friday a 2 stop with p/u in Kearney,NJ and Carteret,NJ for a 24 hour drop/hook in Henderson,NC. Fast loading at both stops and dropped that night in Henderson,NC then empty to yard in High Point,NC where i took my 10 hour break and turned in paperwork. Got dispatch Saturday morning load going to Montgomery,NY for Tuesday, so off to house for weekend I go!
Week Stats: 3/6 to 3/12
16 Hours Orientation Pay # $11.40 = $182.40
Stop Pay (2 # $14.73) = $29.46
Mileage (1,200 # .323) = $387.60
TOTAL = $599.46 (miles might vary slightly)
Not too bad for only 2 days really driving!The Challenger, JustSonny and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Sorry been awhile since updated....but anyways after home wknd of 3/13-3/16....took load went home with and delivered to Staples in Montgomery,NY (live unload done in less than 30 minutes), then down empty to Douglassville,PA for load of coffee creamer that I took to our terminal in High Point,NC.
Left out there next morning for load to drop at yard in Secaucus,NJ then a backhaul of foam products in Rutherford,NJ to drop down in Greensboro,NC then empty to yard in High Point for load home.
Stats (3/14-3/20):
$735 - mileage pay (2,272 miles)
$ 50 - stop pay (2 live / 2 d+h)
$785 - gross
Not a bad week considering I'm still new and learning the "ropes" so I know its on to bigger and better things over here! Am very happy with the 2004 Volvo I'm assigned to also (no slip seating), it has high miles but very well maintained and runs great. Be back next week.....The Challenger, ironhand and JustSonny Thank this. -
Okay everybody....next week update for you and even better week. I went to get my passport so I can run to Canada (the company pays for the full passport), they say is a bunch of freight going up there and for more miles I'm all for it!
Was a real good week..load got from yard end of last week and took home delivered Monday in Plattsburgh,NY with 2 stops to unload on it (whew can feel those pounds flying away now I love a good workout!), then across state to Watertown,NY to drop and hook for load of hay (yup thats right like "hay for my horses...lol"), and took that down to our yard in High Point.
Next load grabbed to take up to yard in Secaucus and drop there then take empty trailer down to Douglassville,PA for another load of coffee creamer that went back down to High Point yard, done for week.
Stats (3/21-3/27):
$910 - mileage pay (2,820 miles)
$ 54 - stop pay (3 live / 1 d+h)
$964 - gross
Yee Haa....the weeks just keep on getting better. Still Happy here, happy trucking everyone! Hope y'all had a nice Easter!ironhand, JustSonny and The Challenger Thank this. -
