Well we got 5mi away from the yard in CA after getting the A/C fixed & it quit AGAIN! (This was the 4th time in the shop for it!) Thankfully our DM got us another truck! YAY! Still a Freightliner, but it is MUCH better than the last. Got all of our stuff moved & put away. Now we are back on our way to PA. See ya'll down the road!
-
Does landspan pay break down, lay over or detention pay?
-
Do they require yall to use a feul routing.
-
In regards to the above questions, yes they do pay layover, breakdown, & detention. They also pay for non-idling time in CA if you are in a truck w/o an APU.
If you'd like to know how much, let me know. I will try to respond with it when I have more time.
As for the fuel, yes you have to follow their fuel routing, but it is your option what route you take. If you decide to take an alternate route, then all you do is resubmit for a new fuel route after you are on the route you want.
Please let us know of any other questions ya'll may have!

Does landspan goes to the northeast alot. Do they do alot of drop n hook. How long do you have to stay out to earn 1 day off.
-
Thank you for your quick answers. My hubby and I are currently with prime and looking around.
Next question: do they try to force you to run in bad weather? Do they require you to chain? -
betterroad. Landspan does not have chains on the trucks. YOu can buy them if you want. If you have to go thru Colorado or places that require you to have chains, you can get rerouted. Also I don't know if they reimburse you for buying chains or not.
No they don't force you to run in bad weather. They could try
Truckerim: We have only gotten as far east as Jersey so far. I can't tell you what the average is on drop-n-hook. but we re not at the docks too often. the normal rule for days off, 7 days out, etc. Also, depending on where you live, you could be out 2-3 weeks and be able to get home. They do have certain days that they don't like teams to be at home. Usually at the end of the month and first few days of the new month. Freight picks up.
I hope this helps.
MsDaisy. Glad you got a new truck, now just hand me a new ear, ok
We are in Hagerstown, MD. going to Hodgins, IL

Betterroad, what is your opinion about prime for teams? I confused about where to go, i heard good things about prime but nothing better than hear from somebody who is inside and doing it...That's why i'm here following CBiker and just colecting opinions... We are currently with Knight Refrigerated but they don't have team freight, basically we play solo runs and late loads..few drop n hook but nothing expressive...also looking around...
Thanks. -
Thanks CB! Wish I could lend you my ear, but I'm starting to have trouble with mine too!

For all of you looking into changing companies...
My other half & I came from US Xpress. We was scared to change companies in fear of doing worse than what we was doing, but it turned out to be the right choice to make. When we was hired on at LS we was told we would only get 3500-4000 mi a week. We still came over because that was an improvement from what we was getting.
Since we was hired on, our miles have been better than expected and I feel that they treat us well as far as nice & willing to help when they can. We have a real fair DM who makes sure we get paid what we're supposed to & she gets us the miles we are happy with.
So for us I think we made the right choice at the right time to switch. It just all depends on how bad you need a change.
I hope that CB & us have been able to help.
Happy truckin' ya'll! Feel free to ask anything!
