I cant say for positive as this is relatively something Maverick is just getting into. I do however believe they may let lease drivers in initially that have prior reefer experience. As I learn more about these new divisions of Maverick Ill post updates.

Maverick just announced this week that they are starting a reefer division.....should be interesting.

You don't get out much do you?

Mavericks lease payments are about $275 per week for 2006 equipment with miles in the high 300's to low 400's. Maintenance is 12% of the linehaul per week, they dont touch any part of fuel surcharge for that. 12% may sound high but its not really and it makes sure you dont have to worry about maintenance issues. I never understand a Mav IC lease truck that has not had repairs done that it needs. I always had money for repairs. The easiest way I know to tell you is that all fixed expenses will average just under $500 a week, this includes truck payment. Figure an average .12-13cpm maintenance plus your fuel cost. I currently average .50cpm profit(take home taxable). Also fuel is cash price at pump minus Mavericks discount which varies by location.
Trucks are former company vehicles, currently, although I have heard rumors of them planning to offer something through selectrucks. The company trucks are automatics(no clutch pedal). They have power windows air ride drivers seat 70" midroof xt sleeper. All aluminum wheels. Detriot 14 liter engine rated 470hp. -
Is Mav Ic a lease to buy or just lease like rent? What are the major pro's and con's to leasing.
-
Lease to buy. There is a balloon payment at the end.
-
It is a "walk away" lease purchase. You can pay the balloon payment at end of the lease and the truck is yours or you can give it back and lease another. Mavericks lease is very competitive. The pro's are no money down no credit check,if something major happens to the truck they will help you out if you need it,freedom to be your own boss,if you decide its not for you you can give the truck back without harming your credit. Con's,well that really depends on you. I personally prefer leasing but some prefer buying out right so they have equity in the truck. Your truck selection is limited to what they have on hand. Thats probably the only real con I could see,Maverick takes good care of their trucks so the lease trucks still have lots of life left. I had very good luck with my first lease and Im now on my second lease. Hope this helps. Post more questions if you have any and I'll try to answer as best I can. -- Missouri Kid
