We have a potential driver that just (4/10/2024) received a citation for "failure to obey traffic device" - this placed 4 points on his MVR. He has not yet been hired.
When I ran the PSP report, the citation, or points for failure to obey traffic device doesn't show up? I think it might be a timing issue, not yet reported to PSP.
However, my question is... does the points that this driver received from this violation follow him to a new company and will they become a part of our safety score if hired?
Driver has Points on MVR but not on PSP

Call your insurance agent and find out how it will affect your premium.

Depends on who issued the citation; if it wasn't part of a DOT inspection it won't be listed on the PSP.
Local citation for failing to obey traffic device probably won't be listed...that's right listed; ther are no points on a PSP though many carriers and 'so called' safety companies do attribute any company violation points from an inspection/accident to the individual driver it is really bupkus! -
PSP points come Inspections
MVR points come tickets.
An inspection with warning but no ticket = PSP only points
Inspection with ticket will be PSP points and maybe MVR points
Ticket with no inspection = MVR only points -

Psp points come from only 2 places
Accident, Violations, tickets, warnings listed on a dot inspection.
An Accident report from city, county or state police..
And as to the Accident you get points because you were involved in one even if it's not your fault -
A podunk cop that is NOT inspecting and making a report will show up on the MVR but NOT on the PSP.
Have over ten years using the PSP as part of hiring.
