Mostly I was expecting the union or NYC drivers that are paying for cost of living in the most expensive state, are paying for 4 new cars, a boat, RV, 2 motorcycles, expensive vacations, stay-at-home wife, and $300/mo cable TV bill.hope not dumb twucker and wifi_guru Thank this.

I’m not going to say anything negative about the pay. It’s the group text thing I wouldn’t like. I would buy a work phone and leave it in the truck.Accidental Trucker, Concorde, dboot01 and 3 others Thank this.

Why tho? I always hear " I'm only a number" this job is the exception
-
You hear that from bottom feeders. The view is completely different at the top.
1. Idiots crave an audience. The bigger the audience, the happier the idiot. That’s 70 stupid texts a day.
2. Those people who want to be more than a number have the wrong focus. I am here for the money. I want no part of the office politics, any company drama, or brown nosing episodes. Life is much simpler without all of these.
3. Betrayal ALWAYS comes from someone who’s close. “Et tu, Brute’?” If somehow, you end up near the top of the pile, sans knee pads, expect to get backstabbed.Accidental Trucker, TruckDriver87, Diesel Dave and 3 others Thank this. -
I don’t really understand the group text thing.
Okay if..”hey everyone company bbq tomorrow 10 am drinks on the house”
Not okay if..” hey boss, ate a bad burrito last night and won’t be able to run today”hope not dumb twucker, wifi_guru, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this. -
Small companies like this can be good. The only problems though, are that singular issues which matter only a little at a large company can absolutely ruin a small one. Things like hiring 1 cr@ppy fleet manager, or if the owner sells the company. Or worse, he lets his son run the company. Or even worse still, he runs into financial problems, and his wife's family bails him out, making his wife the co-CEO (don't ask; it didn't end well...). Loss of a single major contract might mean a 50% reduction in the fleet size. If you like your company the way it is today, be grateful. It can all change in a week's time, so keep your eyes open for whatever else is available. Ride the gravy train as long as it rolls....

I hate group texts.
“Good night paw. Good night maw! Good night Johnboy!”
And of course, the supertrucker good night, “Well, I’ve been at this for 10 years and I say good night to you, Johnboy.”
And then you have that weak henpecked fool who thinks his wife is the ultimate authority. “My wife doesn’t like burritos. She says burritos are from the devil! Can you all avoid angering her?”hope not dumb twucker, wifi_guru, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this.
