Yeah, EV's are ridiculous. Sure, Elon slaps the "1000 hp" sticker on it, what about torque? Overlooked that part did we? It doesn't matter how you have that motor wired either AC/DC (Not the rock band) there's not a lot out there that can beat the torque of a diesel. I refer to EV"s as the "brainwashing vehicles". They'd better not start that on us truckers.

    That part is 100% truth.
But even beyond "fossil" fuels, net zero, carbon neutral, etc., etc. is not only impossible, but unnecessary. Propaganda.

People sound like diesel is magically coming out of the ground. We have get oil from ground, put it in a double hauled ship, then refine the oil to diesel and gas. Then run it to storage tanks. Then have truck come get it and bring it to truck stop and gas station. Dump it in ground tanks. Then pump it into your tanks.

Electric trucks won’t just replacing diesel anytime soon but as they build charging network and if the trucks prove they can run cheaper per mile then diesel. They could make an OTR version. Lots of unknowns at the point. Plus we don’t have power to recharge all electric trucks yet. California is famous for their brown outs during summer heat.

Not to mention the cost of war to keep the oil supply secure.

Respectfully , i see no way in hell recharging a battery that size in that time for 200$ . If it does how much juice you gonna use going up monteagle or lheading east out of saltlake ? Im sure of many other steep climbs but the 2 im familiar with .
