Just wanted to update my time at TDDS... Done with class room.. out in the yard and road now.. have the 90 alley down.. can do the parallel blind side.. but have to use a pull up..straight is no problem.. Road was a blast.. even after 15 years out of a truck..it came back..like riding a bike..the rpm range is hard to get use to... that last truck i was in.back in the early 90..rpm range of 17-21.. these new truck.. 11-15.. I feel like Im lugging it.. lol

Ok..almost done here.. :) I have the 90 alley down..the blind side down...we start off set next week.. We spend all day today in yard.. did enough 90's and blind side..to last me a month..lol.. we are down to 5 ppl in our group now... so we get bunch of seat time.. Get to go on road tomorrow.. Instructor says he can take us any place he wants now.. so hoping to get some good seat miles.. We have been getting about 50 miles a day seat time..would like to see 150 miles..:)

Our road day was great... we did some really tight really tight..right hand turns... I mean.. take up the left lane and still have to jug handle tight turns lol...
I did a nice down hill with a stop sign at the bottom hill.. there was no warning of the stop sign at the bottom.. :) The instructor asked why I didnt down shift going down the hill..I said cause I was going down hill.. he said.. correct :) We did some really skinny roads.. with left and right side tires on the lines skinny...lol..
There are 3 of us in a truck... and our truck is doing great... The instructor writes notes every day...and so far..only thing he has wrote is...another good road day..so that is a good thing..

Ok.. I have Werner set up for May 31.. 14 day out Regional after 300 hrs trainer...I have went back and forth with different companies..and Werner keeps ending up on top.. I know alot of ppl say run fast from Werner.. But I just want my year back under my butt... then I have a good company that wants me when I get 10 months under me.... Should be a wild ride..but since I am a X driver..I know what to expect and I know the in's and outs of the industry.. I have to say TDDS is a great school.. and anyone looking for good training should really consider TDDS..

you do make me laugh sometimes. you have 10 years of experience...not one! not three! not five! TEN! and you are all excited and proud of right turns, which you can probably do in your sleep:biggrin_255:
anyways, keep up the good work and if you don't mind, come back once you are in with werner and tell us how it went. i'm doing =my homework= and getting all sort of comments on werner.
share your experience and i'll sent some good karma your way:biggrin_25514:

LOL..glad I can make ya LOL.. hey it has been over 15 years since I have drove ..lol.. Makes me feel good I have not forgot how to drive a big truck :) .. The wife says the same thing.. I should be able to do it in my sleep.. but after being out so long.. I wasnt sure if I could or would remember ..I take my state test may 24th.. But I will keep posting here... It is like being a newbie again and to every company out there I am a newbie.. But a lot has changed..Now they want you to stay in the 12 to 1500 rpm range.. 15 years ago.. that was lugging a engine..The HOS have changed..Only 53 ft'ers ya seen was JB or pumpkin..No one cared how long you idled your truck.. Ole big blue will be the place I get my seat time..may not be the best...maybe not the worst..So once Im out with them..I will start my own Werner thread..
