I have a 2007 9400 with an ISX. My engine fan doesn't come on when I turn the override switch on. The fan DOES operate normally when the air conditioner is on and if the engine temperature reaches 210°. I have replaced the solenoid and used a Power Probe to apply power at the switch harness plug. It never did come on when I did that. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thank you.

Follow the small air line from the fan clutch back towards the cab, it should go to a control solenoid( possibly more than one) more than likely on the firewall. It’s possible one of those has failed.

Did the fan switch ever work for you in the past? There were a few years, IH did not have manual fan switches with the Cummins ISX engines. A previous owner may have installed that switch but, could never get it to work, and just left it in.

    My 96 9200 had a fuse/breaker for a manual fan over-ride switch.

Yes, it worked for a while after I bought the truck. I was reminded today that the Cummins shop might have done something when they did some computer work on it. It was a fleet truck and the ECM was locked. I had Cummins open it up.

I've checked the fuse, it's good.

That will be an input to the ECM. You will need to watch the signals with Insite, and you will also need to make sure that parameter is even enabled.
