Local driver going beyond 150 mile radius

    Up to 8 days in any 30 day period. Any more than that and the driver would be required to use an ELD. Also, keep in mind that the 30 day period is a rolling period, meaning it does not reset and a day is any period or part of a 24 hour period that a log book is required, so an overnight trip ( taking a 10 hour break on the road) would count as two of your days.

    That’s why I keep all my hours of service in my truck 100%. If it’s asked upon…… BAMMMM, there it is……

    I’m log exempt and the way we do it is I just fill out a paper log for the day I run outside the radius, like if I do a linehaul run on a Saturday.
