So,.....just had my 567 aligned after installing blocks, caster shims and an adjustable drag link. I used a well respected mobile company "Axle Play". I do not know how far they reach, but here in my area of nw Oregon, they are well known and highly thought of. Now I know why.
1: The steering box is not going to try to do anything. It is static and has no influence. Caster and toe will be what "tries" to center itself or follow the crown. As suspected, my 567 was withing "factory spec", but not within Axle Play's spec. They set the toe to run near 0 WHEN DRIVING. The tire scrub has influence on component tolerances.
2: If your tires are not over heating, try to just get this week through with, then get the king pins replaced. Depending how bad they are worn, no matter what you do, you will just keep chasing an issue. Get one thing right, they next issue shows up etc., etc. Worn king pins just will not allow any settings to hold to end of the driveway. Everything depends on component condition.
I don't recall you saying who replaced the springs. But if there was any wedges bolted to the old springs and went un-noticed, and the new springs do not have them, then caster is missing and will cause many issues. The reason I mention this, is you say the pitman arm from the steering box is not 90 to the ground. Any roll of the axle, forward or backward, even a 2 or 4 degree shim, will change the actual length of the drag link. This will then angle the pitman different, AND, will cause your steering wheel to be off center. (or if you have an aftermarket steering wheel, you may not notice it)HillbillyDeluxeTruck and ElmerFudpucker Thank this. -

I swung into AJ's Tires out on I10/Trainer Hale. He's the only guy I know of that I feel won't lie to me about stuff like this.
So, I was so hyperfocused on the front axle, I never bothered to look at the drive axles. BOTH of them were over 3" off pushing the truck hard right. I won't get into the issues we found, but I'll be ###### if we didn't find a couple. @wore out was right in suggesting to look at the rears. I just couldn't understand why they'd be out of alignment when I had a 3 axle done on it less than a year ago.
Truck now goes straight down the road even with worn kingpins. But she's getting new kingpins and tires next week.
Now my next thread, getting the front end lower...Deezl Smoke and SmallPackage Thank this. -

This truck rack is hard to see under a car alignment and pallet racks. It is about 23 feet long. The other picture is of some of the cross beams. It was in a concrete pit about 4 feet deep. One of the closest I have seen to it is in the old Pete shop in Indy. Last time I was there an out fit out of Tampa had just moved in. Parts and trucks? Trucks and Parts? That rack is a bit bigger but shallow. Looks hard to work in.
We used some old school tools. Mister Level and Miss's string will never lye to you. The problem was if you asked the question correctly. Not saying we could beata good hand and a good computer machine.
wore out Thanks this.
