TND Tablet losing battery while plugged in

3.1 amps is the output of the device. Dual ports. 3.1 divide by 2 ports is 1.55

What you want is at least 2 amps per port. If you're going to use a dual port you want at least 4 amps output.

The link you provided isn't strong enough. Per port. You'll have better luck with 2 amps per port. My Verizon dual charger is rated at 4.6 amps. Thats 2.3 amps per port.

 

The unit in my link is plenty strong enough. It has been keeping my TND at 100% for about 2 weeks now and I leave it in GPS road map mode all the time. (Likely the highest draw it will have unless maybe streaming Wi-Fi might have more, (I did not test that) but as I noted in my previous post there is still remaining amprage available before maxing out the 3.1)

The 3.1a is available in full to either port individually if only 1 item is plugged in. I tested that with other items. I also left another GPS plugged into it (TND plus other GPS) for over 24 hours to see how it would work and the TND remained at 100% the entire time.

So, as I said, it seems to work just fine but thanks anyway for your post.

 

Do not use Pencil erasers.. they are oil based... Use a typewriter eraser and yes there is a thing called a typewriter.

It was right after the light bulb.. So I am showing my age a little..

 

I run a 1/4 DC outlet in my car,, running a Tablet, Qi Charger, Dash Cam, and TND... have not had any issues with current draw...

 

I just got one from my pops and im having the same issue i got it to turn on i went to reset it and now nothing wether its the block in the back or directly into the tablet

 

It's not just with this particular model. I had the original overdryve and it had the same issue. I have the two twenty headset and it has the same issue. My base on my 1050 is having issues. Flimsy soldering of the USB PORTS. SMD Components. I had to rework my USB ports. I haven't figured out the base issue just yet. I work with electronics so I had everything I needed to read to rework.

 

If it’s all the electronics having the issue then it might be somewhere having to do with the 12v socket. Either it’s not sending enough power or the socket has corrosion inside not provide good enough contact to send the proper power thru.

 

Yeah the power plug doesn’t provide enough current to keep up with drain. I got sick snd tired of it dying just where I need to turn and put it in a drawer. Like new for sale, I will sell it for 0 if you pay the postage.
