Also, i have gone and taken the 407, was a parking lot. Often i find the 401 is just as quick.

407 has been paid for for afew years now. the government sold it to an a russian company and they still charge for it.. @!#&(*)#&(@&()*)&(*^!!!!
i usually only go on it though if im goin to the cottage for vaca. its easier.. and ive never. ever hit traffic on it. 401 always sucks, specially around the 400 and 427, cuz no one can figure it out... hahahaah:biggrin_25523:

The 407 was sold in 1999,. for 3.1 billion dollars
"The consortium is owned by Spanish construction firm Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, Australia's Macquarie Infrastructure Group and Montreal-based SNC-Lavalin Inc., Canada's largest engineering and construction company.
Madrid-based Cintra is the highway-operating unit of Spanish builder Grupo Ferrovial SA."

nothing to do with russians,. GOOGLE is your freind, the CB radio is your source for BS,.

there are ways of running the 407 for free:biggrin_25525:

There are some free ways to get on the 407...if you have early 1990"s Nissan Pathfinder you get on for free, since the rear license plate is tucked under a big spare tire...with other vehicles you have to "create" similar situation, but it works.
I have seen people with simple setups..one of them operated the rear plate from the cab of his pickup via lever...all you have to do is tilt it downwards a bit...

yeah ive seen some of those setups too..

took my pop-up trailer up to the cottage once.. the spare tire on the trailer musta blocked the plate, and the trailer itself blocked the one the van.. i guess it got the front one. I got a bill of .21 cents... and it showed where i went on the highway, but not where i got off.. LMAO!!! im still on the highway!!! now for the bill being .21 cents.. i still dont get where they got that number from.. i dont think its that cheap to get on it... is it? anyways... i never paid it, only cuz it would cost me more in stamps, and time... and fuel goin to the post office. they havnt bugged me for it.. and havnt been on the 407 for about a year now.. since that last... stupid bill..
