Ok I see. Yeah the company I work for was on Red Light when I went ot work there, then we got the on Satisfactory. They had 2 unsatisfactories, they cleaned house (brought me in) and we passed. If we didn't pass they probably would have been shut down. That was a long time ago!
    ok thanks for explaining. :headbang:

One reason is some driver have to pay everytime it goes off. Alot of time it goes off even if scale is closed. So it can be a pain, to have to call them, and prove scale was closed. Just simpler.:smt003

I stick mine under my leg. Never goes off, even in WA where it will go off even if its stuck in the glove box.

From what I understand, the state can charge for every green light you get on Pre-Pass, even if the scale is closed. For weird, one time I got the red going past eastbound I-70, port of entry scale in IN even though it was deserted. If the scale is closed, I was told to ignore the Pre-Pass.

I don't understand why a company with a red rating would even bother with it, some states have a very short list of companies they allow to by-pass the scales even with Pre-Pass.

Many states have the detectors on the approach and if you don't set it off, you don't have to cross the one close to the scale house.

BTW KY uses Norpass, and IA has the detector and the signal on the same transponder, you don't have to wonder if they are going to pull you in, you get the light immediately.

At US Xpress like i have Stated Before, The Prepass along with Toll Devices are like Little Tattle Tales and can be used against the Driver by the company what they do is Pull your Prepass Record and Then when u come up for your monthly random Log Audit they Check all of those times against your prepass and other if any toll devices...

If your Coloring book (AKA Log Book) says your in Little Rock at 8:15pm and your Prepass Says you Crossed the West Memphis Scale at 8:11pm then your in Violation and the Company will most likely call you Make you Take Safety Classes and then Place you on Probation if you get too many company log violations in 1 year they will Fire you weather or not they even get DOT inspected..

By the way i havent gotten a Red Light Since May or June of 2006, its Green Light in Every State except in KY, GA, because we dont have Advantage and norpass, I Even get the Green Light in FL for the Agricultural Inspection stations as well

That's right,we put it under our leg ,when the scales are closed it still sends and stores info, same as when its open, if you were to be checked in that state on the other end, when they put you in the computer it will pop up and tell them exactly when you crossed over, thus you could get a big fine for a falsified log. Also if your company gets audited by the dot, they can match that drivers logs with the scale and your company pays a big fine. Then you get hell or fired.
