I have a contract with a US based last mile delivery service, and they require a DOT and MC number. My only form of transport business, is door to door delivery of packages in my contracted delivery zones. I am a lone driver with a single vehicle. What I drive does not qualify as a CMV according to their classifications. It is a 2015 Ram C/V. I do not know what exactly I’m supposed to submit to fmcsa for my audit. I do not operate any CMV or CDL drivers. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Contact your local FMCSA office and they will tell you what you need.

    Who is they - their?

CMV is a vehicle used by a business entity to produce revenue.

Here in this state it can be a car depending on which law is used.

FMCSA audit = theirs. I.e. Federal definition of Commercial vehicle, which is 10K CGVWR over 10K.
