I know they usually want guys to stay out for 3 weeks at a time. That’s a hard pass. Their ads make it seem like the money is decent , and the guys I see out here in Oregon all seem to keep clean trucks.

LGT?
BTW: It's pronounced, "legit"....

If you can't/won't go with one of the private cryo carriers -- they are (as I understand it) as good as it gets, otherwise.
Very good reviews....from what I have seen. Driver turnover appears to be low.
There are no drivers here on this Forum complaining about them.
The woman who started LGT got fed up with life over at Genox....left there....& decided to start up her own cryo company.
It seems she has been fairly successful with it, so far.
As indicated above -- it is an OTR cryo fleet.
Thus -- expect to be gone for at least 3 weeks at a time, with about a week back at home.
You should be assigned your own tractor there; most likely it will be a Peterbilt.
And no....I don't drive for them.
I just looked into them, earlier.

Lol, that has a nice ring to it. Sounds like a legit otr company then.. I do find it disappointing that it's a week off with no income which might force one to only take 3 to 5 days off. Im curious to find out if lease purchasing with LGT might allow one to be a regional driver there so that there is constant flow of income and time with family..viper822004 Thanks this.

I did no homework on leasing with or from LGT.
However....leasing from the same company that supplies to you your loads....& paychecks....along with loads to (competing) company drivers....seems kinda dicey (at best) to me.
If overall business slows down (which it has) -- who do you think will get the better/most loads?

I can tell you that overall business is slow in the industry, generally speaking.
We are a bellwhether for the economy since so many sectors use the products for raw materials to finished product.
Unless you've a decent bankroll or a crystal ball into the upcoming election I'd not venture into a lease purchase without the most favorable terms.
During flush times I know guys that have done well, but the business is cyclical and not sure I'd gamble right now.txboy10, RockinChair, scythe08 and 2 others Thank this. -
I'd better start saving money quick! I would love to own a truck one day. Sort of a wishful thinking..
Thanks for the insight!
Edit: won't let me post emojis.. oh well, time to go old school!

So I was driving through a area in Northern Maine. I saw a Mathesons store. Which makes me question. Is it 3rd party carriers supplying the store? Because only Cryo plant I know of is Messer. But store I saw would be too far for a day cab to get back to the plant after

You don’t have any of the 5 private carriers close by? I’d try that first or if you don’t have the experience then LGT is fine to get experience and then jump over.Dannyku Thanks this.

LGT will want (at least) 2 years of class A experience -- along with a very good safety record.
Both tanker & hazmat CDL endorsements will be required.
For LGT, at least -- no previous tanker experience is req'd.
Let us know what you later find....& how it goes.

I don't have three years of experience yet and my dream of having my own truck makes me reluctant.. even though I know it's foolish haha. But I would have liked the opportunity to be part of Linde Praxair, seeing how great their pay is.
viper822004 Thanks this.
