I'm hoping for a call back this coming week, and that they don't mean 2 years of OTR experience, which I wouldn't qualify for.. will definitely share my experience if I make it past![]()

Compared to KAG and Genox drivers, LGT guys always seem to have better training. Some of the others it’s shocking how little they know. Depending on your location LGT has been known to work with guys on schedules especially if they need drivers asap.
As far as a lease purchase aka a fleece purchase you’d be better off saving to buy your own rig and take it wherever you want whenever you want! That stuff is for the mega carriers like swift! Besides it’s always cheaper to learn this industry (tankers especially) on someone else’s dime. Be a company man to start out before you go jump in the deep end.Gearjammin' Penguin, RockinChair, Dannyku and 4 others Thank this. -
@Dannyku DO NOT DO A LEASE PURCHASE!!! And the way 3rd party carriers work on the cryo industry is. Your just a fill in driver until the top 5 can get there own drivers in the area. I've seen several drivers quit because they will be local for 3 months. Then the carrier they are with will say ok your going to Ohio or California, and etc.
LGT is better than some of the other 3rd party carriers. But I would work for a private then save the money. And buy my own truck if truck ownership was the goal.
Driver was local for 10 months and loving it. Then the company he was doing work for started doing more of there own work. So the 3rd party carrier sent the driver to NC for a month. Home 4 days then to Ohio, now the driver was making money. But ends up quitting because of home time. And that could have been prevented by working through Airgas directly. Instead of pulling for airgas through the 3rd party.
DON'T GO AND GET INTO A LEASE!!!
While loading at our ASU I get to meet several drivers with All kinds of 3rd party carriers. And your never locked into any one product or area. Whereas the private will have you local or regional with set days off.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A TRUCK LEASE PURCHASE!!!!
Even if you couldn't get on with a private. Go company at LGT if they offer that in your area.
I WILL BUY YOUR FAMILY TURKEY DINNER IN NOVEMBER, IF YOU STAY AWAY FROM THE L/P CONTRACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Gearjammin' Penguin, Dannyku, scythe08 and 5 others Thank this. -

Listen to these guys. That week off every 3 weeks that your wishing you got paid...That week cost you. You lease a truck the payments don't stop so every time your not working you are going in the hole. Even with experience and the willingness to go anywhere, going home every 3 weeks will hurt you big time.Dannyku and viper822004 Thank this.

There are some smaller carriers that are local only. Pacific CA in Yakima comes to mind.Dannyku Thanks this.

FWIW Pacific CA does run out of their area. I have seen them several times in Benicia and loaded next to one in Price, Utah a couple of weeks ago. The drivers I have talked to all seemed happy and they have nice equipment.
I was westbound on I80 late one night, with the cruise control set at 75 or 80 and had one roll right by me.viper822004 and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Pacific Ca systems parks a few trucks out in Hermiston. They run some decent equipment
scythe08 Thanks this. -
I was told by a Pacific CA driver that they have one driver who just runs between Reno and SLC.
As for LGT I know one of their lease guys who just paid off his truck and says he likes it there and isn't going anywhere.viper822004, Dannyku, scythe08 and 2 others Thank this. -
Never heard of them, definitely a mom and pop. No way the private fleets would let you pass 75mph let alone 80mph. Hell I can’t even pass 69mph without getting flagged!
viper822004 and scythe08 Thank this.
