Do you want strictly flatbed, step deck, or a little of both and a large carrier or a smaller one?

yep they load at metal coaters in Jackson quite a bit. I've loaded there just to get home before. Yes they ship a lot of coils. I've seen 12 trucks at a time being loaded there when they really get busy

I have been driving for BTC (builders transportation) out of memphis, tn for nearly 2 years. Overall, i can't really complain about the company. I get .38 cent per mile, loaded or not, plus 25$ if i have to tarp. I pretty much get home every weekend unless i have a breakdown or something wierd happens. last month, they started matching logs to quallcom, so cant get creative with logbook. Actually, i have been (mostly) logging legal anyway, so it doesnt matter too much to me. I still have always averaged 2000-2500 miles a week, which is about the company average.
Overall, good company to work for-not the fanciest trucks in the world, but they get the job done. Governed at 65. they want idle below 40%, which is easy if you have a 2008 with a bunk heater-not so easy if you dont.

Let me know if you have any other questions about them, but i can't garuntee i can reply until next wknd or later.

    Good luck with your search

I just started with Maverick. They are first class all the way.
There are former TMC drivers here and they say that they like Maverick better especially the way they are treated.

Was it good working for TMC. I am VERY interested in driving for them but have heard some rumors. Heard they want you to make 5 loads in 5 days and get pressured from dispatch. Is it better to take the percentage pay or cents per mile? You can email me (subject: TMC) Thanks.

I work for BTC and i am on my 3rd week and everything is good. I am getting between 2200 2500 miles a week and been home every weekend. Tarpitall was correct on his post on how the company operates and the trucks are not fantcy but they get the job done. All the drivers ive met are happy with the company and when im out getting unloaded or loaded and there is another BTC driver out there, and almost every driver has came over to give me a hand and ive done the same. I have worked with Maverick and TMC and im not going to bash them but there is a big differance working for a smaller company than a big company, it all depends what u want, but what is the same with all the flatbed companies is that the work is hard and gets filthy dirty at times and is not always easy but if you like hard work this is the job for you.
