I haven’t been at it as long as you @Tall Mike but I remember those Fox trucks pretty well, then you had Severt out of the Jax area, no kidding, hauling trash across I-10 in the panhandle one morning around 2AM, half asleep, thinking I’m the only one out there and seemingly out of nowhere a Severt blows my doors off at no less than 90, and by the time my eyes were fully open he was gone, them boys didn’t play!

 

Severt had nice equipment they'd move right along.

 

I would see those Severt trucks down on the bottom coming and going.

 

Severt had a huge Sysco contract…losin that and some family infighting did them in
@Tall Mike there’s even weirder things goin on in Hometown nowadays…including pulling the bedrooms off 1/2 or more of the trux and makin stretched out day cabs…he’s an interesting(sic) individual
On a lighter note…best yard sign in my hood…saw it yesterday eve on way home from Tavern

 

Our friend in Hometown said back when I was there he'd like to go to an all day cab fleet, regional, with mostly drop and hook. Elog probably put a cramp in the Florida LTL work I'm sure. He dropped the Colorado LTL when I was there. Don't see much of those boys anymore wonder if he downsized too ?

 

I see them local area and up in Mass at couple grocery places…

Pot holes a plenty…..cold mix out to the panhandle of Florida this morning, and in case you were wondering, still hot as heck!!
