No orientations in 2 days and i didn’t wanna go. But I’ll just stay until I find a desirable local job

Did you choose flatbed or van? I started my career with them. I chose flatbed. It really wasn't bad at all. You'll definitely gain some valuable experience with Western that will help you when you get to a local job. Don't worry about what others say about Western or OTR lifestyle. If you keep your head down, do what's asked of you, you'll be fine and you'll come out better when it's time to move on. You're on the I-95 corridor and Western has a heavy presence on that highway so hometime will be easy for you. Just focus on honing your skills so you'll have something to offer when you go to that better job. Keep a good attitude and an open mind, and all of us are here, and we will help you any way we can.Savor the Flavor Thanks this.

Central transport will definitely hire new cdl grades depending on how busy they are in ur area. My advice stop into a terminal close to you and see if u can talk to someone

A lot of LTL jobs there. My buddy worked at Saia there said they always need drivers. He said he dropped an app at other places like Estes and Dui Pyle all got call backs. A lot of LTL stuff going to Harrisburg. Get your experience and try to get on after a year at western.
