Sometimes a CB handle is bestowed upon a driver by others, but I think it's usually the person who comes up with something suitable.
Example: I'm Shakey AfterShock.
"Shakey" because I'm domiciled near Los Angeles, California, --
known in Big truck trucker lingo as "Shakey town", and
"AfterShock" because that's why LA is known as "Shakey town".
Well, actually it's because of the earthquakes, but Shakey Earthquake just doesn't roll off the tongue very well.
I was like you in that I didn't want a handle similar to anyone else.
If you live around Chicago, you could be the "Chi-Town Hustler",
"Lincoln", or the "Windy City Cowboy", for example. Or, if you're a large person, you could call yourself "Tiny". Tall? "Stretch".
I haven't heard of anyone calling themselves "Commercial Tourist."
Keep those ears open, QC, ---
as well as your eyes and mind. A good attitude will take you farther than a ho-hum attitude.
Keep us posted how you're doin'.

I agree with you all about being nice and kind and yes, you are all one 'big family.' You should wave or salute or say thanks! We do in our boat and it is an unspoken ''rule'' of the water to be kind to the other boaters too.

Ahoy thar!
Boat off the starboard bow,
with the pretty lady wavin' hello.

Can y'all help me?
I think I made a wrong turn somewhere back there
around the GW Bridge.
Can y'all direct me 'n this Big truck back to
dry land?
I sure would appreciate it.
I'm feelin' a tad queezy.
Sea sick I think.
HuH?
Whuuzat?
Salvage rights on the high seas?
Can y'all really do that?
Ok, if y'all say so.
Just be careful.
I'm loaded with bovine excrement
and I think it got wet.
OH!
One more thing before I go down with the Big truck.

Welcome to the forums.
And please don't mention to anyone that'cha saw me out here
floatin' in the ocean.
I have an image to protect, and a reputation to consider.
Don'cha know.
How would that look on my DAC report?
YeaH, that's what I was thinkin' too.

Shakey, just be thankful you don't live down in El Centro or Calexico. Then you'd have to change your name to "Shake & Bake!"

I might be a newbie in this industry, but this is how we all should treat one another. Very well said.
