I know nothing about these. So does it have an in and an out solenoid? Hydraulic or electric?
I'd power the out solenoid and jump the motor. If it extends, do the same to retract. That would eliminate everything from the motor out.
Then you'd be chasing either the signal to the solenoids, or signal to the motor

So — turns out that it was snagged up on some carpet that I cut last year cause of a water leak— pushed up on the slide as the other half hit the button and PRESTO— told you guys it was something stupid — and I kept the old solenoid
