Read through the thread after not being on here for awhile. I would also say foodgrade is awesome to start out with. But after 12 years in it like me, a bit of a higher pay rate and more stable working schedules becomes paramount.
Of course relocation is key as well. Where I live it's a "HAZMAT desert". Plenty of milk and ag hauling jobs in the area. But pay tops out at $60k-70k year. Of course while that's good for some. You got spendaholic bozos like me that don't know how to rein it in. Of course at the same time, certain laws in NM and wanting a slightly larger city also draw me to the better opportunities of nearby Amarillo.
That said, get your tanker time in and start striking out for better when you're good to go.
