I have a 2016 freightliner Cascadia. The problem is with the trailer lights, all of them. So when I first start out in the morning and hook up to a new trailer, the lights will be on. However, when I supply the tractor and trailer with air at the hand valves the lights begin to flicker and sometimes will go out. If I take and move the tractor forward, they will also flicker on and off. It is not the electrical cable that runs to the trailer from the tractor, because I have used three different ones and have the same problem. After driving the tractor for about 30 minutes to an hour the problem disappears. It seems like the problem is around some sort of electrical component that is connected to the air system. Any thoughts?

check your ground connection in the cord. It sounds like the only ground is through the 5th wheel and the grease is interfering.

The socket that the cord plugs into the back of the truck is replaceable. It can get old and corroded in their causing problems like you're experiencing.
