F’n Card Skimmers

My question is how in the world do these crooks place these skimmers at or on the card reader with absolutely nobody having a clue it was done?

 

Set your cards up to notify you of every purchase. Besides being covered 100% you can lock down the card immediately.

 

It's all federally insured but the hassle is more the punishment.

 

I dunno but I used a company fuel card at a gas station for my service truck and evidently they had a skimmer , I got notified by our fleet manager that the card was cut off by the card company for being used with the wrong PIN .

and the PIN the scammers tried to use was the first four digits of the odometer reading , our fuel card requires the odo reading to be punched in , then prompts the driver for the PIN which has to be punched in .

it was a local gas station and I went back the next day and informed the clerk that pump 7 had a skimmer on it but they didn’t give a #### , so I’m guessing they might have been in on it .

 

I filled up in New Mexico last year in my POV on my way back from Colorado. I got the first notification almost instantly when I completed the purchase. Twenty miles down the road I got another notification for $250. I called the credit card company and it was instantly reversed. They cancelled the card, and a new one was delivered to my house in a couple of days.

I refuse to use a debit card, I'm not even sure why I still have one.

 

There’s no liability with credit cards but there is with debit cards. Debit cards aren’t an intelligent way to do business. I use credit cards for everything even if it’s ten cents.

I get immediate texts from my credit cards. I purchased two concert tickets for $1,600 a couple nights ago and my credit card texted me immediately with a confirmation PIN number to make sure it was me.

 

I'm guessing a good % of them are employees doing it.

when I went to the gas station where my card got
Skimmed to tell them about it and even which pump it was on , they didn’t give two flying farts .

they should have put a out of order sign on the pump and called the police to make a report and investigate . But they just didn’t care .

so I assume the clerk or store owner was in on it

most owners and clerks are foreigners from places where stealing is perfectly acceptable and normal .
