Is thier any companies out there that hire someone with not much of a work history?

By just out of school do you mean trucking school? If so, then you probably have been given a list of some sort about companies that will hire driving school grads. I see your 28, how have you managed to make it this far with no work history? all trucking companies require a 10 year work history, if you havent worked anywhere then you got to tell them that. Chances are no small company will put you on with no experience. I first started in 1986, I got lucky, never driven a semi before, no schooling, but a farmer I knew gave me a shot hauling grain locally, low pay, bad equipment, but I took the oppurtunity and ran with it. good luck to you, read the message boards and get an idea what you might be getting into.

are you just out of highschool or college?
i think most, if not all compnies understand that if you were in school that is ok...
they just want to make sure that you were not doing NOTHING in the past...
school and work.. pretty much the same thing...

 

I'm sorry, is this a joke? were there any English classes at that college? maybe you don't understand.......um........ "weir they any English classes at them college you had went to? if not, whey didn't you take not none?" and we wonder why this country is falling to the bottom of the heap.........

trucking companies want a 3 year work history for students, 10 year history for experienced drivers. all you really need is a CDL, a decent MVR, a pulse, and a willingness to give up your life to make $4 an hour. you don't even have to be particularly literate.

if this describes you, you're probably qualified to be a trucker.

SMS, if you want in to the trucking career you got to put up with any kind of person. I'm not in to it yet but I do know that much. Also at 28 I am sure they will have questions for you cause most work a job and go to school esp. at the age of 28. Not trying to start anything just lettin ya know, good luck.
